I wanted to post this real fast to pass on the idea. Ive used it quite a few times w/o issues. Its proved very ergonomical and functions without burden or liability. I think owners of this knife will find the idea useful and easy to employ..The Gerber Strong-Arm is a very good knife thus far. However the belt frog it came with is an utter POS-disappointment when used on a belt rig. There is NO MOLLE on my current Wilderness Evader Rig so I was going to have to improvise...Read Full Post »

First understand this is my plan and opinion that stands alone from those I train with and it doesn't represent anything they have conveyed to me. THIS IS MY TRAIN OF THOUGHT AND MINE ONLY. I have purposely left out the mention of the boys and operating with them after the hammer drops. They are not included in this because we have not had a conversation past Evasion survival. I cannot implicate them in my words- it's just not polite or safe.

Yesterday we were able to field all three members of the training group together. While i have had assessments and drills with both of the others individually over multiple trips, scheduling and civilized life had separated our paths from group training, however this seems to be stabilizing and schedules are coupling so I suspect for the most part you'll see us together over the...Read Full Post »

Drills will start in June so we needed one more scout of TA: Moscow and we hope to get in one more scout of TA: Rhodesian too. To kick off the GReen Season we have decided on a 3 day-2 night drills of varying tasks. The general plan is one night of a simply relaxed RON to plan the next two days and night but on the second night the plan is to do a tactica...Read Full Post »

A total rucksack overview is not my intent today. I'm simply passing on some ideas i think will come in useful to others looking to Evade.

Today was very "on the fly" type Scout. Last night I decided I wanted to get out and suck up some wilderness air but before bed my kit wasn't sorted to go back to "TA: Rhodesia" so I thought Id take a smack at a place I tried to locate in October of last year. Being a first timer there I didn't go full on kit. This is my rule for whenever I check out a new place. I just go resembling somethi...Read Full Post »

Bjorn and I have executed 3 successful trips to the wilds that were not just wasted time, but productive endeavors.
A few days ago Bjorn and myself, along with both our 4 legged companions set out to scout a new TA for use this green season. Stepping off early the weather was brilliant as were the atti...Read Full Post »

Above: A very old project- Replaced the orginal soup sandwish pockets with Liebermuster cargo pockest from Swiss Trousers.
The point of this post is not whether or not I will replace any smock, or to shine a light on anything I am using at t...Read Full Post »

Step off time was 0700/7AM before sun up. The expected temperature was about 10F but much to our surprise it was every bit of 20 below 0F. We un-assed our kit, strapped on our snow shoes, wrapped ourselves in our webbing and slipped our rucksack over our heads. Then with kit sorted and weapons in hand we gingerly followed a ...Read Full Post »

I thoroughly believe there are few products that come off the shelf that will adapt -as is- for the Evaders needs. The more you train and use your kit the more you will bend and adapt to simply modifying kit to be functional, accessible and to balance that with protecting it from the elements to minimize the necessary burden of kit maintained. A sound, protective...Read Full Post »

"The buses with prisoners from the gun round up in Winchester will be traveling east on RT50 at 1800, here..."
All jokes aside ppl preparing to throw down about this one possible outcome to the VA situation need to stop talking about it in public unless its about political channels and political change.. You wouldn't tell the bad g...Read Full Post »

Warning.. This is pretty boring but a necessary update..
This is just a quick reminder before I get started on this blog post: You CAN NOT script a survival situation anymore then you can script a car crash, train wreck, sinking boat, hurricane, tornado, flood, or control the will of men bent on spreading evil and creating destruction. ! Simply p...Read Full Post »

For years now Ive been using US issue sustainment pouches in one form or another on various rucksacks and rigs. I hate them. IMO they are sloppy, , floppy, unstable, narrow mouthed, thin skinned and the lid is an utter POS with a crappy draw string cinch closure design. Sadly...Read Full Post »

One of my first serious uses of a Zeltbahn shleter back in thye 90s. These are Austrian Zeltbahn- IMO some of the best around. This is about 6 buttoned together to make a shleter large enough for 4 men and all our kit with lots of room for Admin and living. It rained for 3 days. A HARD autumn rain and we never saw a leak.I was using ...Read Full Post »

Out there un-tethered.. The struggle is real..
September was a month of scouting. Lots of it. The main shelter in Ft Wilderness was destroyed by a bear assault a while ago. They climbed ontop and totally broke the spine of the shelter. It was done. I needed a new home to train and i needed to find one...Read Full Post »
